Digitization

                             Digitization is the process of converting information into a digital format. Those are to be legally admissible in place of the source record.

·         Initial Input, either scanning or keyboard

·         Conversion of any one of the standard formats (ASCII, HTML, SGML, XML. etc.)

·         Optical Character recognition to capture text character for searching

·         Creation and input of metadata and cataloguing information

·         Using of special technique for non-textual materials (music, image, videotape. etc.)

Scanning

It is the 1^st steps in digitizing a document in to image the document. This may be done scanning or photographic of image process.
